American Portable Diagnostic Association (APDA)
The American Portable Diagnostic Association (APDA) ( previously the National Association of Portable X-Ray Providers ) is a national affiliation whose members supply portable x-ray and EKG services to nursing homes and home care patients. The Florida Assisted Living Association (FALA)
FALA was founded when three regional associations, Suncoast Adult Care Association (St. Petersburg/Clearwater), Florida Residential Care Association (Orlando), The Adult Care Association of Florida (Broward County) and many independent facility owners statewide, decided to join forces to create one “voice” for Adult Congregate Living Facilities (ACLFs) in Florida. This dynamic groups’ focus was on legislative action, government relations and making changes that would enhance the ACLF industry. FALA lobbied successfully through subsequent years to increase funding for ALFs, find new sources of funding (Medicaid Waiver) and to change the then unpopular name of ACLFs to the preferred name that we use today, Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs). In 1997, FALA also sought national representation and became a chapter of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA).
The Florida Health Care Association (FHCA)
The FHCA is a federation which was established in 1956 and represents over 1,000 members and over 500 facilities which provide skilled nursing, post-acute and sub-acute care, short-term rehab, assisted living and other services to the frail elderly and individuals with disabilities in Florida. FHCA membership also includes more than 400 Associate Members, or companies, that provide valuable products and services to long term care providers.
